And here we have the noobs--just kidding.

Jake, on the left, knows Japanese as a first language but is also fluent in English. His parents immigrated to America from Japan several months before he was born. He's a genuine otaku, and lacks a mental filter, so sometimes he says things right out of his head without realizing how dumb or offensive they are. When he gets worked up, he goes on rants in Japanese so no one knows what he's saying. His vibrant personality means he's naturally good at making friends, and even though he's a bit stupid, he helps other when they are in need and cheers them up when they're sad. His real name is Iruka (and no, it's not because I like Naruto).

Haru, in the middle, is a hermaphrodite, and doesn't mind everyone knowing it. He only had two good friends, because he doesn't like getting close to people and has trust issues. his older brother dotes on him, so he's a big softie for his family, but he puts up a barrier to anyone else. His classmates gossip about him almost constantly, so he must always carry himself high at school and in public. He hides it, but he struggled with depression and anxiety because of his medical condition. His secret love is video games, and he plays them with his brother in his free time. He has several strange fetishes, which he indulges in inside his head but doesn't dare admit them to anyone. His real name is Joseph Sherlock.

Andrew, on the right, is the older brother figure to everyone except his family. His kind, almost overbearing personality shines through in almost everything he does, even when talking to teachers. Due to family issues at home, he frequently spends the night at Haru's place to escape from the tension. He hates it when people say how much he looks like his father. Sometimes he calls Haru "birdie" because of an event in his childhood that ended with him falling in a creek. He often wakes up with terrible injuries, which worries the shit out of his friends, especially Haru. Jake play-teases him about his eyebrows, to which he responds by shoving him (he's also the one who slaps Jake around when he says anything offensive or stupid, which is pretty much all the time).
